On this tour we travel through the mountains to enter the cloud forest, where we take some walks to observe various species of birds, orchids and perhaps monkeys. After spending the night in our private hostel (El Paraíso) the next day we will continue 5h by motorized boat to Boca Manu, (Picaflor hostel) we will visit the hot springs on the way. In the afternoon we take a night walk to observe spiders (tarantulas), insects, frogs and snakes. We continue traveling by boat to the Reserve Zone (Casa Matsiguenka Lodge). The next day we explore the primary (virgin) jungle, visiting the Cocha Salvador and Cocha Otorongo lakes. We have the opportunity to see jaguars, giant otters, many species of monkeys, birds such as parrots and an incredible variety of plants such as giant trees, palm trees and medicinal plants. The next day we return by boat to Palotoa Lodge and the last day by boat and bus to Cusco.

On the first day of our adventure in the Manu jungle, we will pick you up around 6:00 AM from your hotel in Cusco, in private transportation from Amazon Research Center The first part of the excursion will take us through the majestic mountains Andean.
We will briefly visit the town of Paucartambo, which is known as the folkloric capital of the Colonial city.
At noon we will arrive at the entrance of the Manu National Park and access to one of the most protected natural areas in America.
We’ll continue our journey in the middle of the thick fog, this section of the forest becomes known as the Cloud Forest.
Finally we arrive at the habitat of the exotic national bird of Peru, the “Gallito de las Rocas”. You will find that this is quite an amazing spectacle complete with an impressive variety of sounds and colors that can only be found in the jungle. comfortable paradise hostel.
Very early at 6:30 am, we will leave in the direction of Puerto de Atalaya, on the way we will make a few stops to visit farmers who are known to be producers of many varieties of jungle fruits, including the famous Coca plant.
Later, we will begin the boat part of our trip on an excursion up the Madre de Dios River, one of the tributaries of the mighty Amazon River.
During this day we will have the opportunity to witness many types of colorful birds such as parrots, orioles, vultures and other species. , we are going to make some sightings of some mammals such as monkeys, or capybaras (famous rodents of the jungle that weigh up to 50 kg).
Towards the end of the afternoon, we will arrive at our next destination at our Dorado lodge, arriving at approximately 4:00 pm. Here, there will be showers and toilets available. We will have a night walk in the evening, the best time to see many nocturnal creatures.
This day after a comfortable breakfast we leave Dorado Lodge, leaving the relatively clean waters of the Madre de Dios River, we enter the mud laden waters of the Manu River.
With a brief stop at the park ranger station at the Limonal checkpoint, to present our corresponding permits, then we continue the trip upriver for about 5 hours, especially in the dry season, birds nest on the beaches of the Manu river ., herons, egrets, Orinoco geese, swallows on the beaches we will be able to observe the black and white caiman and aquatic turtles, during the boat trip on the beaches and there is a possibility of finding a Jaguar.
We will see some species of monkeys, After having lunch by the river. A visit to the lake of Cocha Otorongo is planned, where there are observation docks and a 40-meter-high observation tower overlooking the lake. We will also be in search of a large family of giant otters that inhabit this lake. Later we will arrive at the Machiguenga house where we will spend the night.
After breakfast we will get ready to see one of the attractions of this place, we will walk until we reach the shore of the lake, where we will spend the whole morning in the Cocha Salvador lake. Part of the time we will be on a canoe on top of a floating platform observing.
We will be able to meet several species of birds, such as herons, ducks, macaws, toucans, the famous king fisherman, woodpeckers, and many more, and animals such as groups of monkeys , squirrels, wild pigs that usually feed on fruits, the Jetties that jut out in the lake allow us to look for a family of giant otters that live in the lake.
These freshwater carnivores can only be seen in the Manu lakes, having been hunted to extinction in most of their former range. Each animal consumes between 4 and 5 kilos of fish a day and you can often see eating large fish on logs or on the lake shore.
The rest of the day we will spend walking the trails in the area in search of some of the 13 species of monkeys found in the forest here.
Your guide will explain some of the basics of rainforest ecosystems and recognize some of the area’s medicinal plants, used by local indigenous groups. We may cross paths with a group of wild pigs – a kind of wild boar found in these forests. At the end of the afternoon we will enjoy a beautiful sunset.
This day we will leave Casa Matsiguenka traveling down the river for about 5 hours until we reach Boca Manu. The river trip can have surprises and we will be attentive to any wild species on the beaches. Leaving from (Boca Manu) we will travel along the Madre de Dios River for 5 hours until we reach the Amazon Research Center.
This shelter facility is strategically located, and is owned by the ARC company. A group of local conservationists who have a purpose to make a base for scientific research bird watching in the area, and a center for visitors who want to explore the jungle.
In the afternoon you will have time to relax or, if you wish, to explore a path through the forest to a viewpoint on a cliff above the river to observe the flights of parrots and macaws and a magnificent sunset. This day after a comfortable breakfast, we will leave from ARC. Early in the morning to reach the Port of Atalaya from here, we will take the bus directly to Cusco passing through cloud forest and the Andes, arriving in Cusco in the afternoon.
