The Manu National Park, recognized as a World Heritage Site, is one of the areas with the greatest biodiversity on the planet. UNESCO recognized the Park as a Biosphere Reserve, and it is one of the best destinations for nature tourism. The immense variety of the Manu National Park registers 1025 species of birds, 221 species of mammals, 1307 species of butterflies, 8 species of wild cats, 15 species of monkeys, 27 species of macaws, 155 species of reptiles, 300 species of ants, 650 species of beetles 150 species of amphibians.

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Cloud Forest - Paraiso Lodge

We will leave Cusco early and begin the road trip through the Andes and into the Cloud Forest, a unique environment that is truly impressive.

Stop at the Paucartambo and Acjanaco Ranger Station on the way to experience the local culture and witness the spectacular views. Arriving at the cloud forest, there we will make some stops to observe the biodiversity that exists in that place, later arriving at our lodge.

Day 2Paradise lodge – Manu Nature lodge

After a night in the Paradise lodge, we continue the trip towards the port of Atalaya and we will board the motorized boat to descend the Madre de Dios River to the A.R.C. Manu (Amazon Research Center) before lunch, explore the secondary forest system and a beautiful lagoon, and before dinner explore a forest trail system with our naturalist guides before spending the night learning more about the jungle or just relaxing, watching the beautiful sunset. Accommodation in the Amazon Research center, full board.

Day 3Manu Nature center (exploring)

Spend the day exploring the private reserve of the manu nature center. It is a private property, conserved by local people and used for scientific research, since this place is for the strategic study of biodiversity, and receives volunteers from all over the world.

This day we will pay a lot of attention to detect the fauna that is in this place, with the help of your experienced guide you will be able to explore this wonderful forest.

At night, there is an opportunity to go outside, if you feel brave enough to spot nocturnal creatures.

Day 4Manu Nature Center - Cusco

After breakfast, take the boat back to Atalaya and enjoy the last sounds and views of the rainforest before reaching Cusco, keep in mind that the tour ends, but the memories of visiting the manu will linger in your mind for always, arriving in Cusco you will be dropped off at your hotel around 5 p.m.
