Volunteer work at Amazon Research Center

If you have 10 to 12 or 18 to 20 days, you can participate in our volunteer program, which offers a special rate in exchange for your volunteer work.

We have designed a standard and special program that is easy to adapt to the interests of the volunteer.

Volunteer work is varied and can be arranged to suit your particular interests and abilities; No experience is required to volunteer.

WEEKLY ACTIVITY

MondayBird and animal monitoring

This day you wake up at 6 in the morning with the cries of parrots, monkeys and other birds. After a comfortable breakfast, you will head out with your team leader to the rainforest to explore the diversity of birds.

You will learn to identify and record bird and animal data, to help our researchers understand ecosystem management. . It is amazing what you can learn from these beautiful creatures, this activity is incredible (volunteers in action).

After a hectic day walking through the Amazon jungle to complete the surveys, in the afternoon we will return to our lodge and share experiences with the lodge staff. Then you will have dinner together with all the staff, before spending the night in our lodge.

TuesdayEnvironmental education and health

This day after breakfast we are going to visit a small hamlet where children live who need a lot of your support, there they will be able to give talks on environmental education, and how to preserve the environment.
The volunteers will also be able to teach the English language in the small primary school.
as well as in the medical post assisting the personnel in charge.

WednesdayCommunity service

This day, after a comforting breakfast, we will prepare to visit a small farmhouse in Palotoa, to help families with their bio-gardens, preparing the bio-gardens and planting vegetables.

Many children in the village suffer from malnutrition due to a lack of fresh vegetables, which is why organic gardens are essential to improve their diet. The gardens are also an alternative source of income, as many families have started selling their produce to improve their livelihoods.

After a hot and sweaty day at work you will be able to take a relaxing bath, then relax with cold drinks, in the evening after dinner you will have a sense of accomplishment knowing that you and your team have helped a family I really need your help.

ThursdayCultural Experience

Then a relaxing morning at the lodge, enjoy a community lunch with all team members. You spend the afternoon doing research with our researchers to identify species and record data, or help the kitchen, lodge cleaning staff get to know the team better.

After a hearty dinner, spend a fun-filled evening practicing Spanish with our Peruvian staff, sharing stories to learn about different cultures and experiences that will broaden your understanding and horizons.

FridayReforestation and floral ornamentation

A spectacular way to start the day contributing to Mother Nature. This day we will be full of energy to reforest small palm, fruit and timber plants that one day will be discovered in trees, after lunch they will spend the afternoon cleaning the lodge and planting flowers and decorative plants.

SaturdayFun times

You spend the day walking through the tropical jungle and enjoy learning about the great diversity of plants and wildlife by talking with your team leader, you will also have time for sport fishing for fish in the region, it is always good to balance our diet with fresh fish,

Return to the lodge for a hot shower and dinner, just before Saturday night kicks off, this is when the whole team lets loose with some quirky home entertainment.

With a few beers and jokes, you’ll start fraternizing with friends

SundayFree time and relaxation

This day you will relax in a hammock with a good book, play soccer with the village team, take a dip in the currents or simply enjoy a good gossip with other volunteers.

It will be a Sunday off day – take in the stunning beauty of your surroundings and just enjoy every moment.

After coordination with the personnel in charge, they will visit attractive places to have an unforgettable experience in the jungle.
